Refund policy

At Kabnz, we are committed to delivering quality expandable homes, container solutions and modular structures. Due to the size, nature and customisation of our products, our returns and refund policy differs from standard retail items.

This policy operates in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).


1. Change of Mind

Due to the large and custom nature of our products:

  • Change-of-mind returns are not accepted once production has commenced.
  • Deposits are non-refundable once manufacturing or preparation has begun.
  • If cancellation is requested before production begins, an administrative fee may apply.

Kabnz products are built or prepared to order and cannot be resold as standard retail items.


2. Custom & Modified Orders

Custom layouts, modified container builds, special finishes or made-to-order products:

  • Are strictly non-refundable
  • Cannot be returned unless deemed faulty under Australian Consumer Law

Please ensure all specifications are confirmed prior to approval and payment.


3. Deposits & Progress Payments

  • Deposits secure your production slot and materials.
  • Deposits are non-refundable once materials are ordered or production has commenced.
  • Failure to complete progress payments may result in delays or cancellation without refund of deposit.

4. Delivery Damage

All products must be inspected upon delivery.

If visible damage occurs during transport:

  • Note the damage on the delivery docket
  • Take clear photos immediately
  • Notify Kabnz in writing within 24 hours

Failure to report transport damage within 24 hours may void claims.

Kabnz is not responsible for damage occurring after delivery or during client arranged transport.


5. Faulty or Defective Products

Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a remedy if a product:

  • Has a major structural defect
  • Is not fit for its intended purpose
  • Does not match agreed specifications

If a defect is confirmed, Kabnz may:

  • Repair the product
  • Replace the affected component
  • Provide a partial refund
  • Provide a full refund (in cases of major failure)

Kabnz reserves the right to inspect the product prior to determining the appropriate remedy.


6. Installation & Site Responsibility

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to:

  • Ensure adequate site access
  • Ensure correct foundation preparation
  • Arrange necessary council approvals
  • Arrange licensed trades for final electrical and plumbing connections

Kabnz is not responsible for issues arising from:

  • Improper site preparation
  • Incorrect installation by third parties
  • Failure to obtain council approval
  • Ground movement or unsuitable soil conditions

7. Refund Processing

If a refund is approved:

  • Refunds will be processed via the original payment method where possible
  • Processing time may take 5–10 business days
  • Transaction fees may be deducted where applicable

8. Warranty

Kabnz products may include structural and component warranties where specified at time of sale.

Warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Cosmetic damage after installation
  • Damage caused by extreme weather events
  • Unauthorised modifications

Full warranty terms are provided at time of purchase.


9. Finance Purchases

If your product is purchased using third-party finance:

  • Refunds are subject to the terms of the finance agreement
  • Kabnz is not responsible for finance fees or interest charges
  • Cancellation may incur lender penalties
